UMAY

Doing art that connects, because life for money feels meaningless. I was the kid asking WHY? In every class. Born to question, raised to love. The world is an infinite sea of possibilities, what if we actually appreciate existence?

I DO PERFORM INDOORS (SOMETIMES)

NAUGHTY MONKEY & OTHER MASKS

2022-2026, KOSMOS Good Life Optog. A very naughty dancing monkey with red ribbons takes over the central streets of Aarhus searching for love, new rhythms and a cosy spot to rest for a while. People said to have seen her also at Smukfest, marathon races and other city’s festivals. This art got kind of deep down my veins so I kept on exploring how to be a bird, a butterfly and even a Mexican funky demon. It is true that I love all of performing arts, but street performances have my heart.

ONCE A HOST FOR SPOT

2024.X Marks the SPOT. Coming back from motherhood and still not fitting any pants, a lot of glamour, mixed languages and plenty of loud laughs! HVAD SA’ AARHUS !

DANCING TIME

When language appears as a barrier, things tend to become more physical. The arrival to Denmark brought an array of interventions and multidisciplinary events exploring communication and playfulness beyond words. Video art and experimental performances together with visual Danish artist MCRO, co creation of the collective FACE TO FACE and participation as a performer, dancing interventions with and without light poi and whips for FEUM, DOUBLE RAINBOW, AARHUS BURNS, among others. 2018-2019

IKARUS

A group of unicorns took over Holstebro and the area. With live music, dance and sometimes circus flow, the outdoor performances exhibited always something new: from trying to save the giant egg from being burned in Sankt Hans, to dancing in front of cows in Herring, to dancing with poi at the library hall or dancing inside a fountain in the Center of Holstebro. Can you find me under the mask? 2018

ALSO SOME CLASSICS

THREE SISTERS, BY CHEJOV. 2017 in Teatro del Artefacto. Interpreting Natasha, directed by Manuela Serrano Buzzo.

BUENOS AIRES UNDERGROUND

2013-2017, BUENOS AIRES. Experimental, raw and outside of conventional spaces. From secret varietés happening in houses, to fast speed calls to create a scene under a specific topic in one week, to street interventions. Prolific times of experimentation and urgency to create and share.

VALENTIN COLORÍN

2016-2017, BUENOS AIRES. A company that produces tasteless candy, in a world without colours, ruled by a tiran. A musical play for children about bullying, friendship and team work. Originals songs with folkloric sounds of Latin america. The play was a collective creation.

FORTIN TOMADO o UN PASADO DISTOPICO

2017, in the role of KAPANGA, for the graduation play, National University of the Arts (UNA), BUENOS AIRES. Argentina is divided by a giant fracture, since the beginning of its times. A group of aboriginal women takes over a fort and holds some captives in the aim of recovering the remains of Kapanga’s brother.

Aarhuspanti Murga has been more than a group. It has been my community, the strongest cultural bond with my land since migrating to Denmark. Murga is a popular art from Argentina, jumpy dancing with live drumming and a beat hard to resist. Together we performed at Northside, Ildflue fest, Aarhus Køn Museum, Aarhus FESTUGE, Murga Fest 2.0 in Rome and a Murga Festival in Belgium. 2018-2025

FROM ARG TIL DK
PEOPLE ALWAYS REMEMBER THEIR 1ST

There around 2014 or maybe 2015, I had the chance to prepare a piece for the concert of Pablo Giménez. The song was called Noche en Calma (calm night), so I decided to bring Rogelio, my first ever puppet. Even though I have been acting since I was 8, it was not until university that theatre of objects crossed my path. And guess what ? It was love at first sight.

CURIOSITY is my FRIEND

Never stop learning, it doesn’t matter what. Lately I have been exploring pattern design, how the brain of women change when they become a mum, and consciousness or boundries of AI.

EDUCATION

2012-2017
Degree in Acting from the National University of Arts, Argentina.

2022
Master in Artivism and Master in Research in the performing Arts. From Stockholm University. Did the course, never handled the exam :/ (Does someone ever check the titles?)

Before studying Art, did 3 years of Geophysics and 1 of Psychology, in case you were wondering, people can have many interests <3

EXPERIENCE

Worked many years as an assistant producer of a show that was top of sales in Argentina more than once. I also worked as a personal assistant. After I quit I went to be a waitress. Needed to be on the other side, looking for more human connections, less pose.

Tried to teach about taxes at school, English to elders and kids, theatre to grownups and kids.

I cleaned houses, managed a bar. Did communications and graphic design… cut tomatoes and cold cuts for an Italian pizzeria. Produced concerts and parties and had my brand of empanadas for a while.

A little bit of this, a little bit of that

—Who stays still, dies- says my grandpa, and he’s 89.
